Recovered catalogue style notes

Credited through his landmark contributions to the anime adaptation, Bahi JD brings an unmistakably kinetic, 'web-gen' sakuga sensibility to the One Piece Card Game. His visual language rejects rigid, sanitized digital cleanup in favor of visceral, expressive linework that pulses with raw kinetic energy. In pieces like the Marineford arc card (OP13-002), the linework fluctuates between bold, aggressive contours and spontaneous, gestural strokes, capturing the sheer destructive weight and chaotic motion of battlefield clashes with unrestrained dynamism. His color palette leans heavily into dramatic environmental lighting, vivid saturation, and sharp chiaroscuro. Rather than utilizing flat cell shading, Bahi JD leverages high-contrast backlighting, fiery embers, explosive atmospheric gradients, and radiant light bursts that emulate animation impact frames. This hyper-stylized lighting model gives his artwork a cinematic, snapshot-in-time quality, as if an explosive sequence has been frozen at the exact microsecond of peak impact. Framing is where Bahi JD's signature perspective truly shines: wide-angle, warped fish-eye lenses and extreme foreshortening thrust the focal characters directly toward the viewer. The anatomical forms stretch and contort dynamically to prioritize momentum over strict academic proportions. This fearless approach to motion and scale makes his card art instantly recognizable, standing out starkly against traditional static portraits by imbuing the card frame with the raw velocity of peak Japanese animation.
