Behind the mask. Across the frame.

A striped helmet and blades that sweep beyond the pose. Follow Killer through solo illustrations and the shared Kid & Killer cards, keeping English and Japanese editions independent.

02 / A — The character’s story

The loyalty behind the mask

How do you protect a captain when every wound can be turned against him?

The story here runs through Killer’s fight with Hawkins on Onigashima.

  1. Kid’s crew

A partner in the same ambition.

Killer sails beside Kid as a trusted fighter, sharing the risks of a crew unwilling to submit easily to stronger rivals. His mask hides his face, but his place beside his captain makes their loyalty visible through the dangers they choose together.

  2. Wano

    A laugh forced onto suffering.

Defeat in Wano leaves Killer subjected to a defective SMILE and acting under the name Kamazo, with laughter imposed on feelings it cannot express. Reuniting with Kid brings the cost of that captivity into the open without breaking their determination to resist.

  3. Hawkins

Finding the opening that saves Kid.

Hawkins uses Kid as a hostage through his power to transfer injuries, making Killer’s usual attacks endanger the person he wants to protect. Killer exploits the fact that Kid has already lost an arm, defeating the trap through intimate knowledge of his captain rather than strength alone.

A blade crosses the portrait.

The English print uses a close crop of the helmet and sweeping blades within a patterned border. The Japanese print with this same catalogue suffix has a different composition.

The sweep of the blade.

A broad pale arc cuts across Killer’s dark, spotted sleeve. Blue and pink diagonals amplify the motion behind the striped helmet.
