02 / A — The character’s story
The courage beyond the locked room
How can someone so sheltered carry a power that frightens the world?
The story here runs through Fish-Man Island.
The palace
Safety that feels like confinement.
Shirahoshi lives under the threat of Vander Decken’s attacks, with the palace protecting her by restricting her freedom. The mermaid princess’s tears come from a life shaped by danger, making even a journey outside her room an act of trust.
Luffy
A promise beyond the walls.
Meeting Luffy gives Shirahoshi a companion willing to help her reach the places she has been kept from. Their friendship lets her act on wishes that fear has postponed, bringing her mother’s memory and the island’s future into the same journey.
Poseidon
A voice the Sea Kings answer.
As Fish-Man Island faces destruction, Shirahoshi’s connection to the Sea Kings reveals why she is known as the Ancient Weapon Poseidon. That enormous power belongs to a gentle person still learning courage, making the question of whom she trusts as important as what she can command.
