02 / A — The character’s story
Invention in the service of an uprising
What is a clever machine worth to people who need a chance to resist?
The story here runs through Lulusia and the commanders’ preparations for the Reverie.
The South Army
An inventor with a cause.
Lindbergh is a Mink and a Revolutionary Army commander whose ingenuity accompanies his fighting strength. His equipment belongs to the practical work of the movement, giving invention a purpose beyond the satisfaction of making something new.
Lulusia
Helping the defenders change the odds.
When Peachbeard attacks Lulusia, Lindbergh fights alongside the other commanders in support of the townspeople. His devices help disrupt the pirates’ weapons, allowing technical skill to serve the people Betty is encouraging to stand their ground.
The next mission
A tool within a larger effort.
The commanders then gather for the Revolutionary Army’s preparations around the Reverie, linking local action to a wider plan. Lindbergh’s place among them shows how a rebellion needs different kinds of work, with invention contributing alongside persuasion, strength and coordination.
